Some Devices Cannot Be Used
If some electrical devices cannot be powered via the car charging port (cigarette lighter port), it may be due to the devices requiring a peak startup current that exceeds the port’s protection limit, triggering overload protection. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Issue: Certain devices, particularly motor-driven equipment, cannot be used with the car charging port.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
Step : Check the Device Power Requirements
Before use, confirm that the device’s power consumption is compatible with the car charging port’s rated output (12V/10A/120W).
Devices exceeding this power limit will trigger overload protection, preventing usage.
Some devices, such as air pumps, have a peak startup current that can exceed 1.5–2 times their rated current. If this peak exceeds the car charging port’s overcurrent protection threshold, the device will not function.
Solution: Use devices with power consumption within the rated output of the car charging port.
Leave a safety margin to prevent overload, especially for devices with high startup currents.
Note: The standard output of the car charging port is 12V/10A/120W. Devices with high startup power requirements, such as air pumps, may trigger overload protection and become unusable.
Perform elimination testing by trying other devices to confirm whether the issue is specific to the original device or the car charging port itself. If multiple devices fail, the issue may indicate an internal fault.
