Simultaneous Charging and Discharging
Simultaneous charging and discharging refers to the capability of a portable power station to output power while simultaneously being charged (charging and discharging at the same time). This reduces battery discharge during charging, which helps extend the battery's lifespan.
- Advantages:
When simultaneous charging and discharging is supported (on some models), AC power from the input is directly bypassed to the output to supply power to devices. Any excess power is then used to recharge the internal battery. During discharging, the consumption of the internal battery is reduced, thus saving its lifespan.
- Differences:
Explorer 160/240/500/1000/1500 models: The portable power station converts DC power from the adapter input into either DC or AC to supply the load. If the load requires more energy than the adapter's input, the battery supplements the output.
Explorer 3000Pro/2000Pro/1500Pro/1000Pro/2000 Plus/1000Plus/300Plus models: AC charging is bypassed through the AC input, directly powering the load. Any remaining power is then used to charge the energy storage battery.
